Two Koreas…

November 27, 2009

I firmly believe that the random acts of love I perform in my daily walk while striving to be a joymaker will have a ripple effect far and wide.  In this way I can have a cosmic affect on history.

Every day as I drive along the border of North Korea I feel this heart ache of a divided Korea.  I truly feel these are two brother countries that are disunited, and are in a stalemate relationship.  Somehow the will of God is not being done and this is causing our Heavenly Father much stress.  Both countries think they are in the right and are fulfilling their true destiny. This has been the situation for decades.  Sometimes we see hope in the news, other times everything seems hopeless.  Key figures and politicians just can’t seem to bring these countries together.  This has caused so much heart ache and pain for generations.  Truly North Korea and South Korea are one people and should unite.  Seeing North Korea everyday across the Imjin River makes me yearn for a peaceful and harmonious unification of Korea.

There are so many things beyond my control.  There are so many things even God and True Parents can’t control.    I can’t make North and South Korea unite, even though I live right here on the 38th parallel.  As a movement we can’t force peace in the Middle East. I can’t force others to unite.  Everyone has their own portion of responsibility to fulfill.  Sure I can pray and do conditions but ultimately, as God found out in the Garden of Eden, people don’t always fulfill their responsibility and no one else can fulfill their responsibility for them.

Yet I do have a responsibility that is uniquely mine.  I have a responsibility to live a Principled Life.  This is my 5% responsibility that takes 100% of my heart, soul and mind.  I have to become a perfected being of love and heart.  No one can do this for me. I have to love my wife, children, community and God.  And before I take the speck out of someone else’s eye, I need to gain victory myself.  I have to learn to love my fellow brothers before I can expect someone else to do so or expect a country to do so.  The best condition I can make is by overcoming the resentments and ill feelings I have.  I firmly believe that the random acts of love I perform in my daily walk while striving to be a joymaker will have a ripple effect far and wide.  In this way I can have a cosmic affect on history.

Korean Newsdaily “Joong Ang Ilbo” Interviews Rev. Hyung Jin Moon

November 27, 2009

[Following is a translated excerpt of an interview of the Rev. Hyung Jin Moon conducted by Mr. Hwan Young Kim of the Korean newsdaily Joong Ang Ilbo. ]

World president of the Unification Church Rev. Hyung Jin Moon, who attained a degree in philosophy and comparative religions from Harvard University, has formed close friendships with Buddist, Catholic and Protestant church leaders in Korea and abroad. Recently, he completed a 21,000 bow special devotional offering.

The Reverend Dr. Sun Myung Moon, who celebrated his 90th birthday on January 31 of this year, decided on a succession plan centering on his three sons who graduated from Harvard University. Rev. Hyung Jin Moon, who is in charge of the religious field, studied philosophy and theology at Harvard. This reporter met with Rev. Hyung Jin Moon, the world president of the Unification Church (Unificationism) in his office at the Unification Church World Headquarters Church in Cheongpadong, Seoul. Following are the main points of the interview with him.

Q: What happens to people when they die?

A: During a person’s life, he stores a certain type of “energy” based on his actions. If he does something good, he gains stores “energy,” but if he does something bad, he stores bad “energy.” When he goes to the world after death, he will be surrounded by spirits who have similar energy as he. That is because similar people are attracted to each other.

Q: Is there no Heaven or Hell?

A: There is no Heaven or Hell, but the good spirits and evil spirits are apart. You could say that Hell is where one is separated from God. On the other hand, people who have abandoned selfish ways of thinking and lived a life of helping others live with similar people in the spirit world. Some people ask, “Shouldn’t people who did bad things receive a more severe punishment?” Let’s look at it this way: When there is someone whom we don’t get along with near us, our minds become uneasy. When there is someone out to get us, we endure even greater suffering in our hearts. To have to live for eternity with people who harmed others throughout their lives because you harmed others throughout your life is a very distressing and scary proposition.

Q: Please tell me about your experiences with Buddhism and Catholicism.

A: After graduating from high school, I went to Fairfield University, which is run by the Jesuits, for two years. This was before I transferred to Harvard University. It was while I was attending Fairfield University that my older brother suddenly died due to an accident. The priest who taught religion and philosophy comforted me greatly at the time, and helped me overcome the feeling of loss that I had. I was always very interested in Oriental religions, and was crazy over Bruce Lee in high school. I once visited the Shaolin Monastery in order to learn martial arts and Buddhism. I was close with a Buddhist priest (Korean name is Il-mi) who came from Korea to study in Harvard. Once I spent a summer in a monastery in Italy. Coming in contact with Buddhism and Catholicism was a good opportunity for spiritual searching and learning.

Q: What was it like to meet the Dalai Lama?

A: He is a true saint of this age. He was a marvelous person. I have always been a fan of his writings. Normally, people can only meet him for around five minutes, but I was able to engage in religious dialogue with him, covering various subjects, for around one hour.

Q: If the Unification Church were to proclaim, “We are not Christian,” then wouldn’t many conflicts between Christianity and Unificationism be resolved?

A: It seems that there is some misunderstanding. We are not a Christian denomination.

Q: How many people believe in Unificationism?

A: There are about 20,000 core believers whom we call “central members.” They truly do a lot of work. They volunteer sacrificially for many events and for the sake of witnessing. If we include the people who come to church at least once a year, there are 300,000 believers. The number of people who have filled out the form to join the church is 1,200,000. The number of people who have done so around the world is 4-5 million.

Q: What does Unificationism see as the relationship between religion and science?

A: We believe that both religion and science are based on inspiration from God. We look at the Bible on the basis of the fruits of modern science. The Bible was written by God’s inspiration but human beings wrote it. We do not accept the Bible as 100% literal fact. There is a lot of symbolic and metaphoric language in the Bible.

Q: What do you think of evolution?

A: We accept that evolution takes place but we do not accept Darwin’s Theory of Evolution. Science should be based on evidence by Darwin’s Theory of Evolution has too many premises that are not proven.

Q: Is the Reverend Dr. Sun Myung Moon the “Messiah?”

A: Yes, that is true.

Q: Is he God?

A: He is just a person. However, he has perfectly inherited God’s love.

Q: Is he the final “Messiah?” When he leaves, will God send a new Messiah? Is he the only Messiah?

A: My father totally inherited God’s love, for the sake of all humanity, and is spreading that love throughout the world. My father was victorious and completed his role as the Messiah. There is no need for another Messiah to come. There are many tribal messiahs and national messiahs who need to inherit God’s love for the sake of their tribes and nations.

Q: There is a claim that he is the Maitreya Buddha, to use Buddhist terminology. Don’t you think that Buddhists would be angry to hear such a claim?

A: I don’t think so. Buddhist encourage each other to “attain Buddhahood,” don’t they? Anyone can become a Buddha, according to Buddhism. The Messiah, or the Buddha, is someone who works for God’s true love, for Buddha’s compassion. From that point of view, our perspective may be closer to Buddhism.

Q: What will be done if a doctrinal issue arises after he goes to the next world? Will the issue be discussed in a forum such as a religious conference, or will he speak with the earth from the spirit world?

A: Of course we believe in prayer, but I think using a council is a better way to resolve doctrinal issues.

Q: If God exists, then what is the reason that he is not believed in universally, even though he created humanity?

A: God gave us freedom. God does not want us to love him because we are his creation, but out of our own choice.

Q: What are your views on democracy? Some claim that the Unification Church is attempting to establish a world government in which religion and state are one.

A: Democracy is a very God-centered tradition. Therefore, we respect democracy and have recently employed democratic principles in the way we manage our church. God established the democratic system through the “Founding Fathers.” The reason we oppose communism is because of our conviction in democracy. The Unification Church could overcome persecution thanks to the freedom guaranteed by democracy. We do not seek to establish a world government.

Q: When a religious leader dies, there are many cases in which there is a question of who will succeed him. What is the situation in Unificationism? Are preparations being made for the procedure of succession?

A: Yesterday, I talked with my father for eight hours. My father is healthy. As long as he is here, he is the top decision maker. If he is not here, then my mother is the top decision maker. Because of my mother’s presence, there is no confusion regarding success
ion in Unificationism.

Q: As we see many of the 2nd generation enter the leadership of the Unification Church, isn’t there some criticism regarding succession by heredity?

A: Succession by heredity implies that everything is being given to one’s children. However, in the Unification Church, our religious lifestyle and the management of assets are separate.

Q: What will happen to Unificationism in the future?

A: It is characteristic of new religions to be intense. The believers offer everything and devote themselves entirely to their lives of faith. That is because they are in competition with existing religions. Many changes have already taken place in Unificationism. The kind of intense sacrifice that was asked of early members is no longer asked of all but the most devoted believers and Unificationist pastors.

On My Own, Practicing What I Have Learned!

November 14, 2009

“I am in this movement, for only one reason: to fulfill ‘my own ’ portion of responsibility, and not judge others actions, whether they are a member or a leader!”

Keeping Centered, In the Midst of the Crisis
This past week, I have been praying for a quick resolution of the crisis, our movement is going through. Meanwhile, I am determined to keep centered, and not sidetracked!..”I am in this movement, for only one reason: to fulfill ‘my own ’ portion of responsibility, and not judge others actions, whether they are a member or a leader!”

Let me explain more.

Early on in the movement, one of the major revelations that had a profound affect on my spiritual life was that, “there was no person, past, present or future who can fulfill my portion of responsibility”.  This simple realization had a rippling effect on how I viewed my life in the church.

Following Father and Leadership, as a Reborn Child
For years, I always did what I was told to do.  It always seemed that people, especially leaders, had ideas of what I should be doing and how to do it.  I think that was fine when I was young in the church.  I was really reborn when I joined the church.  I felt in my early years in the movement that I really was a young kid following Father around as he did important things.  It was fun and exciting.

On My Own, Practicing What I Learned
But little babies grow up to be teenagers and young adults.  Young adults have an innate desire to go and do something themselves.  They want to take what they have learned and put it into practice.  They want to go out and do.  It was at that time in my spiritual life that I realized that I have my own portion of responsibility.  Others may think they know what I should be doing, but I and I alone have my portion of responsibility to fulfill!..

What do I do now?
So, I am determined to even more do, what I have always been doing, no matter how long it takes for  this crisis to resolve: My responsibility is to live a Principled life, become a loving and giving individual, and help build the original world that God and True Parents desire; nothing will affect that.

Spinning a Web of Prayers: An Expression Of Gratitude

November 6, 2009

“A sister who had seen improvement with her teenager through our prayer ministry, accepted to pray for another sister who faced the same challenges somewhere else in the world.”

An Expression of Gratitude By Taking Some Responsibility

I have been tuning into Hyung Jin Nim’s ministry, since the very beginning, 2 years ago, actively studying and using the internal guidance he gives us. Since then, I can say, I  have become a better person.

A few months ago, I decided to express my gratitude by taking some responsibility in the iUnificationist Cyber Church prayer ministry. I invited 2 of my friends, Marcia Schlichting and Lyra Kim to join me as a prayer team.

About Our First Team ***
Marcia: Our family has had many challenges in our 13 years in national messiah (of Poland) ministry. And in the last 7 years, Marcia has been our family’s great support, through Marcia’s constant prayers. When there was no one else, she was around for us; she definitely showed me what prayers can do for someone.

Lyra was introduced into my life through a caring elder brother, Bruno klotz, at a time when I was struggling with the issue of forgiving someone!.. Each day, she was  sending out her internet page KTI,  which had a 40 day series on forgiveness.  Since that time, I have read her page each day and been moved many times by the compassionate hearts I found there.  Being both active in Hyung Jin Nim’s ministry, our hearts are connected even more.

Through Praying For Others We All Win
Beatrice and HusbandFirst, when we pray for others, we experience for ourselves, the compassionate, caring heart of a Living and Loving Parent in Heaven. Second, we have witnessed, many times, how the investment of our hearts through prayer, has moved brothers and sisters into more fulfilled persons; those experience has made us feel, that we Unificationists, are truly one loving  family!

Pass it Forward:   A Web of “One to One” Prayers
The principle of “pass it forward” is definitely one important principle in our prayer ministry. First we receive God’s blessing of answered prayer and then we become God’s helper towards another person. A sister who had seen improvement with her teenager through our prayer ministry, accepted to pray for another sister who faced the same challenges somewhere else in the world. That gave me great joy and hope. Thus I dream of a “one to one”  web community, spun through prayers, as one “passes forward” the blessing he/she has received.

Prayer Quilt
One experience is engraved on my heart, that shows no investment of prayer goes without some kind of  result:  In the spring of 2009, we were all praying for our Philippine brother Celso Talaba, who was battling Cancer. Many people around the world were praying for him, as well as our Cyber Church prayer team. We all had great hope for his recovery and for a second I was baffled by the news of his death, ”So many prayers and they did not work!!!”  Next moment after that disappointing thought, I was overwhelmed with a profound sense of peace. As  I reflected, I could see it all in a new light. I saw that, all our hearts and prayers, totally embraced him with love, as he left this world. He entered the next world enveloped in this quilt made of warmth of our hearts, each piece being, one of our prayers; he could have left feeling lonely; instead, he left peaceful, happy and comforted wrapped in our love quilt!

One to one prayer, one day at a time, we are spinning a close tight web of God’s family, in this cyber congregation!

With True Love,
Beatrice

Marcia and her husbandOur elder sister Marcia is an American, over 60 years “young”, blessed with a German brother, living many years in Germany. Marcia and I go back 28 years, back, when I was a student at UTS. Marcia was manning the post office on campus, and was always so kind and talking to me. After 19 years without communication, in 2002, we spent 21 days together in Dae Mo Nim’s WS for blessed wives in Poland. I saw that the kindness she showed me then had transformed into gratitude, and we started to actively develop our relationship by internet.

Lyra Kim and FamilyLyra, around 40 years “young”, is a Philippina sisters who offered herself to be matched to Korean associate members in Korea.

And, I was born in France over 50 years ago, joined our church in Oakland, CA, USA, 33 years ago, and was blessed to a black American/Cherokee brother in 1982. Our family took on the call of national messiah mission and moved to Poland 13 years ago.

Ownership: Angelic Versues Adamic Model

November 5, 2009

Hyung Jin Moon Embracing Children of An African couple who are members of Unification Church in Korea.

“Angels were created and not born, therefore did not need a growth period. Also they are connected with instant results and miracles. Adam on the other hand started as a seed that was fertilized and then had to go through a growth period just like we all do.”

Early on in my church life I came up with the theory about businesses or activities within our movement. I noticed that there are basically two types of businesses: Adamic Businesses and Angelic Businesses.

So let me explain what an Angelic Business is. Angels were created and not born, therefore did not need a growth period. Also they are connected with instant results and miracles. Adam on the other hand started as a seed that was fertilized and then had to go through a growth period just like we all do. The way we create things is to start with an idea, invest, develop and nurture that idea, and work at it as the creation takes shape. So in my way of thinking an Angelic Business is an idea that gets instantly created by going to Father and asking for 1.2 million dollars.

An Adamic Business starts as a seed that is nurtured, fed and water through the blood, sweat and tears of the owner(s) of the idea. It has been my observation that the Adamic Businesses/Activities fair much better. I’d like to give an example of an Adamic activity – Shehaqua Family Camp. Years ago a few families got together centered on the idea that Family Camp was very important. Actually the church hierarchy did not share our vision for this so we decided we had to do this on our own. So we started by gathering a few families together in tents at a small campground. It was not ideal but boy did we have fun.

As interest grew we sought out better facilities. Eventually we secured an entire state owned campground with 60+ buildings (45 sleeping cabins and various other building including lecture, dining, arts & crafts halls). The cost? $95 a day for the entire facility! The camp was based on volunteerism. Everyone had to pitch in and many hands made light work. The camp grew until about 600+ people were attending each year. How much money did we accept from the church? $0. What was the cost for the families? Very little. The end result was a valuable program that was instrumental in the rebirth and inspiration of many families.

Other fine examples of Adamic businesses include, but are not limited to, Original World Products (OWP) and the carpet cleaning companies. The carpet cleaning business in California started with no money and just a mop and bucket. OWP started with a few members learning how to make candles for fundraising product. Both started with much sweat and little funding.

There are many examples of Angelic businesses within our movement. Unfortunately they tend not to pan out as originally planned. Usually they need more money than originally thought. Usually it takes longer that originally thought. Often they tend to not work out and go out of business. These can become successful, however it seems that these ventures have a poor track record.

I recommend a book I read many years ago: Honest Business: A Superior Strategy for Starting and Managing Your Own Business (Paperback) By Salli Rasberry and Michael Phillips ( ISBN-10: 0931425182 ) This book is based on the idea that businesses fail not because they are under capitalized, which is the standard understand, but because they are over capitalized. When projects are under capitalized people tend to use their other resources such as imagination to make things happen. It is a superior strategy.

So instead of expecting others to sponsor the accomplishment of our ideas, we always have a choice of taking ownership to fulfill our dreams and let the strategizing begin!

My Reunion with Helene

October 22, 2009

…tears rolling my cheeks like rain fall, as I felt my wife on the October 13th Holy Wine Ceremony, in Nairobi

“…since Oct 13th 2009, the Holy Wine day, our relationship has really improved, to the point that, I feel her with me, almost constantly, and, at last, I have no more sleepless nights..!”

This is my personal Testimony relevant to the cosmic marriage  blessing Oct 13th-14th 2009, which we participated via webcast at Nairobi-Kenya.

When our national leader suggested to  us to do the indemnity condition of 21 bows and breakfast fasting to prepare for the Cosmic Blessing of Marriages Celebration, at first I thought, I can’t do it, because of my thoracic-cervical spine fractures. The injuries were caused during  the USA Embassy bombing on Aug 7th 1998, by Osama-led terrorists group. This is the 13th year since the bombing, and I graduated from sitting in the wheelchair in 2004. And presently, I walk with the support of two clutches.

My Wife HeleneI prayed deeply in my heart for My wife Hélène in spirit World to help me do the indemnity condition. I got the answer from my wife, to try one full bow and 20 head bow for 21 days and to stop all the medication I take in the morning and continue with lunch-evening medications only. That was the answer I was waiting for, I did all the conditions with only one full bow, which was so painful for 21 days and stopped all morning medication. (my wife ascended to spirit world one February 26th 2002, while I was still on wheelchair.)

From October 10th -13th we had to go for DP workshop at peace house Nairobi. This was another big decision to make, as I take care of 82 OVC’s (orphans and venerable children) at kawangware slum Nairobi (Kenya), where I live( more info). These orphans and street boys depend on me for at least one meal in two days, or a minimum of a meal of boiled maize and beans per day. Playing soccer with the street boys that we care for at kenya KidsThe street boys sleep on shop corridors or street in the slum.  So I had to make a program for them for the 4 days I was going to be away. With God’s help, I was able to arrange with one woman from our neighborhood, to cook one meal per day for them.

During the workshop I had time to reflect on my life and why God has been so unfair to my life: my spine cord fracture in 1998  and my wife ascending in 2002 while I was on wheelchair and the pain I go through every day just to get medication – so many why!

October 13th 2009 was the holy wine day, and I was feeling so tired and I was the only person seated during the entire holy wine ceremony due to my spine condition.  When, I poured a drop of holy wine to my wife photo, I heard an inner voice from my wife saying “it’s over Simon, you are not alone, it’s a new beginning and God understands your needs well”.  At first I was in another world, I can’t tell  exactly what happened, but when I came back to my senses, I found brothers and sisters surrounding me as I tears were rolling down my cheeks like rain (see 1st photo above).

I felt truly been born again, all the worries I had disappeared, and I immediately stood up without the support of clutches. This was a turning point in my life, a new Era for me, a new beginning. That night I didn’t sleep at all and I was feeling like a new born baby being held by the mother, totally protected!

On October 14th, as the Cosmic Blessing of Marriage Celebration started, everyone was in awe, as they saw me walking in the hall, without the support of clutches, dragging my left paralyzed leg! It was difficult but I managed to spend 3 hour dragging my left leg till the blessing ceremony was over. This is just the external view of cosmic blessing.

The truth is that, since 2002, I have been living a very lonely life at my prime age mid 40’s, without a wife. We could not communicate with her after, she ascended from 2002 to 2007.  From 2008, she started visiting me like a dream, and many times, she appeared as a very radiant bright light. However, since Oct 13th 2009, the Holy Wine day, our relationship has really improved, to the point that, I feel her with me, almost constantly, and, at last, I have no more sleepless nights..!

So this is a major turning point for me, and the dawn of a new age in my life. I am so grateful to Heavenly Father and True Parents (Rev. &Mrs. Sun Myung Moon) for such grace and opportunity. God bless you all brothers and sisters in the Unificationist family, I wish you heavenly strength, patience, wisdom and blessing for all your activities. May God be happy for this hour. How we are living with the 360 Billion Absolute Good Spirits, we are able to change!

Cosmic Blessing of Marriages of Couples on October 14, 2009

My personal major cosmic events include, but are not limited to: bicycling with my wife, talking with my children, walking the dogs, fellowship at church, the quiet of mornings, smelling the coffee, my drives to work with God in the passenger seat, and more.

Okay, the party is over…

Here in Korea the Blessing was really amazing.  Father looked really good, the spirit was high and it was great to see so many 2nd generations getting blessed.  Having been in Korea over the years, mywife and I know many of those Blessed Children.  Part of our mission has been to be surrogate parents to young people when they come to Korea to work or study and are away from home.  My wife is very big on hugs which everyone, especially young people, need.  So it was particularly great to see some of them blessed and be there for them.
After major events like this I usually feel a great sigh of relief. There is a lot of coordination, work, prayer, meetings, planning and focus that goes into pulling a Blessing like this off.  Although we are more on the side lines and not involved in the actually planningof the event, everyone gets caught up in preparing themselves and others to make this happen.  Often we have to put aside some of our regular duties and responsibilities as we focus on the event.

It seems no matter how many events or campaigns I am involved in; I have hopes that it will be followed by some cosmic event that will affect the Providence and my life in extra ordinary ways.  It is similar to my expectations following the completion of Father’s 21year course in 1981 or the Millennium change. However I have yet to see this happen, right after the event itself!..  Yet, months or years later, we can look back and see how thing have changed, but that big booming voice from the sky has yet to appear, to me anyway; so, after the event I am kind of left with the “Party’s Over” feeling!

But as I rolled out of bed on October 15th, the day after the Cosmic Blessing, I felt really blessed.  I realized it is not in grand events, that I receive my greatest joy, nor is it in the excitement of an upcoming Blessing.  It is actually in my family that I have my greatest fulfillment and joy.  It is waking up with my wife at hand and not theextraordinary events that gives my life fulfillment, meaning and value.  The very ordinary events of my daily life as I interact withmy loving wife, children, church members, friends and nature give me joy.

My personal major cosmic events include, but are not limited to: bicycling with my wife, talking with my children, walking the dogs, fellowship at church, the quiet of mornings, smelling the coffee, my drives to work with God in the passenger seat, and more.  These “non-extraordinary” daily events make my ordinary life rich and make everyday extraordinary.  No time for the “Party’s Over” feelings here,we are in this for the long haul with many extraordinary ordinary cosmic events going on.

Resurrection of Love In Our Blessing Life: Lessons Learned

October 9, 2009

Our blessed children feeling at home in nature!

“…now I understand I was in fact running away from my internal problems rather than truly caring about THE Mission”!-Mathew

As I have been reflecting on this years motto” …absolute sexual ethics…”, I offer these few hard won lessons, I have learned in my course of Blessing with my wife.

Sexual Purity As an Act of Love for My Spouse
For many years, I have been unclear how to practice “Absolute pure sex”, that Father Moon has been speaking about!  I  have finally, realized that,  just not committing  the illicit sexual relationship, or  not having lustful thoughts, most of the time, is not truly practicing it! I discovered, that I must furthermore, avoid any situation, which even in the slightest way, may threaten the purity of my love for my spouse.

Since I have committed myself to this higher level of fidelity, I definitely have experienced the melting away of many feelings of impurity and self-accusation, which naturally, has resulted in us getting much closer as a couple. When we deny our body, in daily life, overcoming infidelity in our hearts, it is indeed, an act of true love towards our spouse!

One of our earliest photos together

This act of love, adds to the conjugal passion we have for each other, as we  wait for the moment to come, in our day or week, to enjoy each other, centered on God’s love, free from guilt or double mindedness.

Mission Versus Family
…In the first months of our family life, I would leave my wife for weeks sometimes to join a Church, CARP or RYS activity – but with little regard or sensitivity to her feelings.  As a result, we also had some arguments and struggles.
I made my spouse very unhappy at times. I deeply regret this, and now I understand I was in fact running away from my internal problems rather than truly caring about THE Mission. But, later on, I discovered,  that my spouse was there to help me fulfill my mission, instead of being the problem! I simply had to care for her and win her heart, first !

Conjugal love and Serving the Community
As we broke through many aspects of conjugal love, our relationship became more mature and harmonious.   We finally felt ready to start doing public mission; so, we volunteered in helping with Second Generation workshops…As we reflected on our level of commitment to public life as a couple, we could see, we had truly matured to much greater degree than, before, we had this higher level of unity in our conjugal love.

Valuing my wife more than myself
…I have  realized that my wife has a standard which is higher than mine, more selfless. She is my walking conscience!! I used to get envious, as she was more righteous than me! But now, I  feel gratitude than envy, and I receive her as an expression of God’s and True Parents amazing love for me!

Hugging
I guess I am lucky as my wife is quick to point out if I am not hugging her enough or giving enough conjugal affection. This is usually because I am “somewhere else” in my mind; and, now I try harder to be more attentive to her needs for my affection.

Whenever we hug, the children come and join in and we have a big family hug, or my eldest daughter comes and sighs as daddy and mummy are hugging!  Since she was a toddler she used to squeeze between us  to have a hug too. They love it. And that scene, is one of the greatest witness to the power of Blessing, for me…That is what it is all about after all!
I believe the conjugal affection, those little gestures of love during the day long, are the vital point of the relationship.  As the old saying goes: “For woman day determines night while for man night determines the day.”

About Us

Our Family History and Vision

We were determined to have 13 children (as Father had taught), as we were fortunate to be blessed very young ( 19 and 21)and start family life in mid twenties, we made a commitment to go ahead and have a large family. With God`s help we reached our minimum goal`in this area and are truly blessed with our 4 daughters and two sons.

We are homeschooling to protect our children’s purity on this most vulnerable stage
and help them develop their desire to learn through interacting with nature and each other. Living in this beautiful environment ( as Kent is called Garden of England), surrounded by the Kentish countryside, we came to deeply appreciate God`s creation and His love to us expressed through it, as well as all the wisdom of the old generation and their “old ways”.

In our gratitude, we came to realize how important it its to be truly responsible for All Things,
taking care of God’s Creation and not abusing it but using it wisely and living in harmony with it. My dream is to build an ideal family with 4 generations living together. With the Great grandparents, grandparents and parents the children will be surrounded by love and wisdom.

We have been enjoying fellowship online with UC members and relatives,  and we also meet regularly my mum, paternal grandfather ( aged 90), my sister and her family and some other relatives and friends living locally. I have also met and blessed a lot of good people (my postal rounds are in the countryside)
and enjoy lots of hobby life like hunting, gardening and simple bush craft.

Our Tribal Messiahship History and Vision
We did not exactly follow the external mission path; after 3 years of CARP and RYS mission in South Wales , we chose to follow the hometown providence and move to the countryside in county of Kent, in England.

Many years ago, we also set up our family website, explaining about the Blessing as well as trying to witness as a Blessed family in our humble way. My wife is also running an online discussion and support group for Polish speaking mums ( 40 members ) non members which give mutual support to each other. She also created a Polish language website with advice about childcare, natural pregnancy and childbirth, herbal remedies, aromatherapy and other holistic methods.  We consider it as our service to the community, a way to help people to become better, more conscious parents.

Being the only Blessed couple within 50 miles radius, wherever we moved, we joined local Christian communities for worship. For a while we lived opposite a Spiritualist Church which we visited regularly. It was a very interesting experience.

We finally have come  through the stage of organizing our own family service and, now, joining the  iUnificationist Cyber Congregation, as one of its pioneering members, for which we are truly grateful for.

Building a Temple

October 9, 2009

The Future Unificationist Temple To Be built in Seoul, S.Korea

“I believe if we focus on becoming the temple of God, building the Temple will be a piece of cake!”

Each day I start out with my prayer condition.  Some of the major points I cover are those that are central to Father’s focus: peace in the Middle East, the peaceful and harmonious unification of Korea, the establishment of a True Nation, and the building the Temple. These are close to the Father’s heart so I pray for them.  I have a vested interested in the second point because I live within literal earshot of North Korea so I focus on the “peaceful” unification.  But this morning as I was driving along the boarder of North Korea, I was really thinking about the building of the Temple.

Building a temple is a HUGE job.  I reflected on all the steps necessary to construct such a place.  Kook Jin Nim and Hyung Jin Nim are spending a lot of energy to make this happen.  For example, the temple will need a big real estate foot print.  This means we need to purchase a plot of land that has good location and available transportation.  There are so many issues just about the land.  And that is only the beginning. The design has to be determined, plans drawn, and building permits secured. Then there are the finances. All this has to be done even before the foundation is laid and the building built. Wow, this is a lot to consider.

We are talking about building a temple here; however each and every one of us has to become God’s temple, a great temple, where people will find refuge. We need to become that perfected temple where God dwells. I have to become a temple of God’s love and joy.  Building ourselves as a temple is a HUGE job. Historically it is easier to build a building, temple or otherwise, than become a person who is a true temple where God can live. Somehow I believe if we focus on becoming the temple of God, the building the Temple will be a piece of cake.
